Urban vestiges in a post-industrial palimpsest ran through my mind as I stood looking out on the wilds of Haro Strait when memories of the nightlife in Rue Saint-Jean suddenly came to mind. The pleasures of both overpowered each other as I drank in the sea air. So I am present in memory, here looking out at the sea, which makes me look inward at the same time. We are all never completely present in the moment, driven by our senses to explore our thoughts.
