Anna Mar is an emerging abstract artist who lives in Sooke, British Columbia.Anna’s creative journey started in 2013. She graduated from the University of the Arts London (B.A Honours in Digital Media Design) and began a career as a graphic designer and video editor.She has long worked with various media, combining her passion for design with the power of storytelling. She has an intense attention to detail and appreciation of aesthetics.After years of thinking about painting, Anna picked up a brush. She quickly discovered abstract art—a pure form of expression and a journey of self discovery.Anna believes that art reflects what is happening in our lives. It allows for an open statement and a conversation without words. Abstract art is an individual, unique form of expression. Through her art, Anna finds a connection with herself and communication with the outer world. Through art, she learns and understands.Anna’s art is strongly influenced by nature. She spends a lot of time outdoors, immersing herself in her surroundings and experiencing creation in its purest form. She looks at nature through the prism of our existence and our (co)existence with nature is an integral element of her art.Her work is very organic. It shares the essence and beauty of the natural form and focuses our attention on the unnoticed to create artwork that emanates peace and tranquility. It is an expression of gratitude and fulfillment.Anna’s paintings are a form of visual storytelling. Each individual artwork tells a story, shares emotions, and reveals a journey.
